Access Issue: Private Property
Details
Burney Limestone is technically on private property that is owned by Bear Gulch Quarry. There have been access concerns in the past between climbers and the landowners, although it has been many years. Please respect the area, keep a low profile, and leave it cleaner than you found it.
Description
The first crux is low between the 1st and 2nd bolt with a few hard moves of 5.9-5.10 higher up. Well protected throughout the climb, with bolts right where they need to be.
Location
In the north grotto, behind and north of the route Right Field.
Top rope access can be reached by scrambling northwest around the grotto. A protection bolt has been placed to safely access the top rope anchors. The top rope anchors are a bit exposed, best to clip the bolt for access.
Either lower off anchor chains or walk off at the top and scramble back around and down into the north grotto.
Protection
6- 3.5" 5 piece Powers Bolts with Fixe hangers.
Finishes at a comfortable stance with a 2 bolt anchor equipped with plated chain and quick links for the lower off.
