A permit was once required to rock climb at Moss Island, but since 2010, does not appear to be required anymore. There is an issue getting medical vehicles to the island, so be aware. This fact may affect the permit situation in the future.

Description

Climb horizontals that make large holds to the left of Goat Crack and to the right of Goat Corner. Very easy route would make a good top rope for your gumby friends you bring climbing.

Location

To the right of Goat Corner and to the left of Goat Crack on the Jeff Loves Eileen Wall.

Protection

Top Rope, Bolt anchors.

Leading The Ladder

Trying to get my girlfriend into climbing. I think she is on the ladder, there’s now two bolts on top for an anchor.

Cool route with little foot holds. Really gotta get your fingers in the cracks, as some are pretty rounded off. I trad led it, taking a little more direct route than the back and forth of the intended route. Either way I’d still go with a 5.4 for this. Three foot slings fell just short of setting up a proper anchor and master point. Fun route that I’d like to be back on again sometime. Apr 25, 2022
