Cedar Fever

FA: Scott Harris
Texas > Austin Area > Barton Creek Gr… > New Wall > D. The Geritol Wall

Description

Cedar Fever is on the right side of the Geritol Wall. This route travels up some moderate low angle stuff to start. Then it enters a vertical section with some good seams and a small shelf. In middle of this route there is a long reach, which can be made easier by using a mantle. After the no hands rest ledge comes the crux. Move up and right off of a 2 finger undercling pocket and a flat edge to a good pocket/edge and then the top.

Location

This is the bolt line to the right of Rock and Roll High School. The next bolt line to its right is Prism.

Protection

5 Bolts to sport anchors.

[Hide Comment] Update on the location. Cedar Fever used to be the furthest route on the right. Prism now has that. And Gunsmoke ( on the Random wall) will be to the right of Prism. Jun 13, 2017

[Hide Comment] A super fun, under-appreciated route in my opinion. The crux between the 4th and 5th bolts is a neat little boulder problem that I just love.

Contrary to the description, stick clipping the 1st bolt is welcome for shorties like me who can't reach the hanger from the standing on the ledge, otherwise you risk a pretty nasty fall down onto the belayer. Nov 14, 2017

[Hide Comment] I am fairly certain this is one of the two routes that I put up with Scott on this wall, the other being Rock and Roll High School. It would probably have been in Spring of 1992. Jan 26, 2025
