This has interesting climbing marred only by some ledges.

50 yards down river from For the Children is (for want of a better name) The Warner Brothers Pinnacle, located right on the trail. This is the leftmost route. The top of this pinnacle has three 1/2" bolts that appear to be one terminal for a slackline, possibly across the river.

7 bolts (plus an optional sling on a horn) to a 2-bolt anchor.

This is another good route and good for those breaking into this level of leading. There are several good rest ledges. Apr 17, 2014
Reminds me of The Sport Park, with route crowding. At the top of this formation, you have 3 routes converging... as well as POOR bolt placements for a safety aspect.

Some of these bolts leave your quickdraw, rope end biner cross-loaded on edges of the rock.

Very dangerous as cross loading can easily break a biner in a leader fall. Jun 6, 2014

I loved this route. I think it's 5.8 for tall people. I thought the bolt placement was good. I may have used an alpine draw or two. Nice to meet Greg on the way out. Thanks for bolting this! Aug 19, 2014

Very fun and interesting crux about a third of the way up. Sep 22, 2014

It seemed bolted well to me. I do have various length quickdraws though, and I think I used a slightly longer once. Felt like a 5.8 compared to other 5.8s in the canyon. Aug 21, 2016

I also found this to be mediocrely bolted. I agree with Jim Amidon - some of the bolts leave the bottom biner of the draw dangerously levered over an edge - this could have been easily solved by simply bolting a few inches higher.

I also think that all the routes at East Colfax are bolted with 2x as many bolts as are necessary - it makes it nice for nervous people, but clipping a bolt every move is huge overkill for all but the greenest of the green leader. Skip ‘em if you don’t need ‘em! Mar 16, 2018

Fun movement, and felt like a .8 to me. Too bad it was so short. Nov 4, 2018
