Red Headed Stepchild

5.10, Trad, 30 ft (9 m),  Avg: 2.2 from 13 votes
FA: Mike Trew (2013)
N Carolina > 2. Northern Mou… > Dump > Dump aka Warpin & Dor…

Description

Red Headed Stepchild is a new addition to the Dump (2013). The start is often wet but is worth navigating through to reach the overhanging juggy roof finish. Don't forget to knee bar.

Location

It is located to the right of Son of White Trash.

Protection

One of two trad routes at the Dump. A cable sling is around a tree for the anchor. This can be easily set up as a top rope.

[Hide Comment] Fun short roof, definitely deserves to get climbed more. Extend all pieces to keep your rope from getting sucked in the crack above Dec 6, 2015
[Hide Comment] Actually worth doing, in my opinion. More like 5.9 Mar 30, 2018

[Hide Comment] Tree at the top looks to be in bad shape, be careful. It held but I don't know for how long. Fun climb. Sep 6, 2018
