Protect Access in Owens River Gorge! Details

Description

Climb up the left side of a cleft and do a step across move to the headwall (3D). Remarkable pockets in the water course. The crux is near the top. PG 13 because of the potential to hit the wall or ledge behind you when starting up the pockets.

Location

In the obvious dark stained water course left of Flex Your Bazooka and Robinson's 11a.

Protection

11 bolts.

An interesting varied climb that is actually well bolted with positive holds. The loose rock up top gives it a bit of a downgrade. Hopefully it will clean up with time.

I'd advise a good yank to clear the rope when you pull it. We got ours badly stuck up in the notch. Mar 9, 2017

Climbed this one again and it seems to be getting a bit cleaner but still has a bit of looseness. Well bolted so it never gets scary due to the rock. Jan 30, 2016

Fun route and great warm up. Positive holds all the way until the last move. A bit more cleaning near the top would have made it better. Crux was avoiding questionable rock. I guess that's why it's PG? Mar 2, 2014
