Access Issue: Private Property Details
The trail passes through private property for the first three miles.
This small smear sits across the river up on the hillside and takes some effort to reach. This will most likely be the first ice seen after passing the wilderness boundary. It consists of one pitch of slightly less than vertical ice that can be thin. There are two possible finishes, both of which end at trees.
Follow the Pine River trail for about 3 miles to the Weminuche Wilderness boundary. Continue for about another 0.25-0.5 mile and the climb should be in view off to the right and up on the hillside. Find a place to cross the river and continue to a right-angling ramp (see photo) that leads to the base, ~3 hours.
