Description

Fun, clean slab route. The right hand edge is really close and quite tempting. It would make the technical grade significantly easier.

Location

Passing the toe of PSOM on the approach one encounters a small, short slab with two bolted routes. This is the right hand route.

Protection

4 bolts, mussy hooks.

Nice climb with well-placed crux bolts. Mar 16, 2015

A nice, well protected slab climb. The 5.9 version is a bit contrived IMO since the right-hand edge of the slab is so close it is extremely difficult not to follow your instinct an use it...which drops the grade to 5.8 (or less if you allow your foot to step off the edge). Still pretty fun nonetheless and a good little warmup/warmdown. Mar 26, 2015

Loved this route, but if you really follow the bolt line directly--no right hand edge business, this felt more like 10a, but we haven't been on slabs in a while. Tricky! Sep 6, 2015

Too contrived to avoid the arete, given how close the bolts are to it. Would have been better if the line had been bolted a foot or two farther left. Additionally, that way it wouldn't squeeze the crack to the right either. Apr 13, 2016

Mine as well. DId it the day after "Slip and Slide" to the left, Sept 2012. Named this one "Go Left Old Man". Solo. Rated it 5.8. Enjoy. Rick Poedtke Jan 15, 2018
