There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description

One of the best moderate sport lines on Basalt in Smith. Start by soloing a little pedestal, clip a bolt and enjoy the fun sequences, stem, crimp, jug, repeat! You can top rope 4 5.12s off this route too! At the top you can go up/right or left.

Location

After passing the bucket arete of E-Type Jag, this is the next heavily chalked route, it has a moderate clearing underneath and starts with a 20 foot pillar, above this is the stemming box of Naxis.

Not only does this share the anchors with Gapers on a Tangent, Unique Monique, Up Country, and Groove Cat, but you can also get onto a ledge system to the left that you can traverse all the way over to Feminazis. There are 2 bolts to protect this traverse. Jan 16, 2018
