The Haymaker

5.12-, Trad, 90 ft (27 m),  Avg: 3.5 from 2 votes
FA: A. Miller, C. Hall
New Mexico > Jemez Mountains… > Capulin Canyon… > Capulin Canyon > Upper Wall

Description

Beautiful fingers for 40 feet to a pod, then hands.

Just after you think you passed the crux section, it delivers the knockout punch.

You can start by walking out a bushy ledge, but better to start with a dirty but easy boulder problem down and right with a simple mantle onto the starting ledge. Good spot to belay too.

Location

Far right side of the Upper Wall, a stunning splitter on the right side of a blunt arete.
Chain anchors

Protection

Camalots
(2-3).3 to .4
(2) .5 to 1
(1) 2,3, can bring just one of these if you are solid on the size.
