FA: Charlie Barrett
California > San Francisco B… > Wine Country/No… > Salt Point SP > Johnny Cash Boulders

Description

Sit start with a left handful and a right hand sloper above your head. Move up and right along the obvious line. Stellar sandstone.

Location

Coming up the trail you can either take a right to Yellowfoot, or a left to Johnny Cash. Either way, the trails connect into a nice circle around the two close proximity boulders.

Protection

A pad and a spotter to keep your head off of the rocks.

[Hide Comment] We did this problem 3 different ways. The most obvious - bumping right hand along until the jug. The dyno, which seemed only slightly harder (maybe V6). The 3rd way was genius and was the idea of the 5'1" climber in our group. That starts same as the V3 setting up to go left, then mantling the big ramp either with the use of left hand pinch/undercling or keeping both hands on the ramp until you can reach the jug. It felt about the same difficulty for an average height person, but seem like the easiest option for shorties. Excellent problem with many variations with very unique moment!!! Sep 28, 2020

The trail is entirely overgrown and a huge pain to get to the boulders, but the climbs are fun. Dec 12, 2023
