The West Chimney route is only 2 pitches in length, on somewhat lower quality rock than is the Cinque Torri norm. Seen from the West, there are 2 distinct horizontal bands. The first lead is about 100 feet, and terminates on the first band encountered, with a natural anchor on a tied off rock knob, 5.5. The second lead follows the obvious chimney which is overcome by some nice stemming moves; 5.5. Atop the formation there is a solitary tree acting as the anchor for an 75-80 foot rappel to another anchor. Two rappels are needed to get down.
Torre Latina is obvious, to the left (North) of Torre Grande on the path from the Rifugio Scoiattoli at the terminus of the chairlift. series of nice paths lead directly to the base of the formation and the start of the route.
