Description

Starts on the left side of the arete with a small crux above the first bolt. Cross to the right side of the arete and continue up.

Location

Walk up the stairs from When Panties Fly on the Tool Buttress. The arete across from the tool buttress.

Protection

5 bolts. 2 bolt anchor.

Excellent climb on a thoughtfully-constructed line. One of the more unique 8s at the ranch- just a bit spicy into the bargain. Low crux crossing the pillar, a tricky clip at a blocky prow, and a 2nd route finding-based crux on a striking section of burnt orange stone. Some swing potential, even with directionals, for the 2nd on this but not too bad. Only drawbacks are some awkward movement down low and the, a bit annoying, attention that needs to be paid to rope management. Apr 15, 2018

...correct on the bolts with one of them (on the triangular "prow") being a bit of an interesting clip. And I think that it is probably closer to 60 feet in length, not 50. Apr 24, 2018
