Left hand start of Electric Chair. Do some hard V4+ moves starting on the left hand side of the boulder that Electric Chair is on. There are some obvious awkward sidepulls and crappy feet to start. Pull up and into a poor barn-door gaston crimp and then cross over your left hand into some lousy crimps that are likely used for the footholds on Electric Chair (V4/5). Now traverse right into Electric Chair (iron cross move), shake out and save some juice for the final big left lock-off (V3+) move on Electric Chair that goes to the lip. Do another move to get to the very top which is a Thank God jug!

Lots of pads. I took the fall up around 15 feet in the iron cross section which was wild but fun. A fall on the final moves of Electric Chair would be sketchy but probably ok (?) with enough pads and good spotters. Definitely though, I was scared at the top.

PS - I am pretty sure I got the FA on this but if someone else knows of somebody else who did please let me know. The guidebook said it was an open project as of 2012 plus the lower holds were pretty dirty and no evidence of chalk or scrubbing.

Also I changed the name from "Surgical Enhancement" to "The Survivalist" after some pondering.... Sep 14, 2013

A friend of mine did this and apparently you can traverse into Electric Chair a bit earlier than I did which I think bumps the grade down a bit (V4/5?). Oct 6, 2013

I've changed the grade to V4 to reflect current consensus and keep it in line with other climbs nearby of similar difficulty. Aug 25, 2016
