Sustained climbing, the rock is good, the gear is good, but the whole piece of rock is detached from the cliff and so sounds hollow when tapped on.

From the top of Fubby Dub look left along the headwall until you see a beautiful corner with a hand sized crack. A 5.3-5.4 traverse of about 150' takes you to the base of the climb. The climb goes up the corner and then traverses left to the tree anchor.

Standard rack, tree anchor with rap gear that may be old.

Is this the open book/flake to the left of the Pearl Headwall? The route description sounds very similar. You skirt the top of the apron to the left end near the vegetated terrance and the open book rises above with a small overlap at the bottom? If so this is Tangled up in Azure which was put up by Jay Kullman and Sarah Councell sometimes in mid to early 2000s. Sep 3, 2013

Yep it is, I didn't reference the book. My apologies, I am going to change the route name and first ascensionists. Thanks for the heads up! Sep 3, 2013
