A fierce battle up the left hand crack- its about as hard as it looks from the ground. Protecting this thing on lead is probably the crux- especially if you're onsighting.

The left hand of the two routes.

Thin gear- nothing bigger than a purple camalot.

Once you have figured out the beta for this route, climbing it is simply a joy. It is short (like the aptly-named route to its right) but it has character - every move is a unique finger crack boulder problem. Bomber nuts. One of the best single-pitch routes in Squamish IMO. Oct 2, 2016
In my opinion, this thing comes close to rivaling Crime of the Century in terms of quality. Spiderfly is consistently difficult with interesting movement. Its only shortcoming as far as I'm concerned is its "modest" length.

One must befriend the frog that resides in the first good lock if they wish to be granted safe passage. Only then can one become the Spiderfly... Sep 25, 2014
