Taley

FA: Suhail Kakpori - Jeremy Higle
International > Asia > India > Northern India… > Ladakh > Shey Rock

Description

This is the route that ascends the face just to the left of the painted #7. A great pitch but harder than it looks. The crux is getting from the slab up into the first crack, and then from that face, over the roof, into the next crack. This route was well bolted at both cruxes. A fun outing is to link this pitch with Leh'd Back which is above and to the left of this route.

As of July 2022, the bolts have been removed.

[Hide Comment] Awesome route, the name Taley comes from an Indian food dish which features a bit of everything just like this climb. It has some face, roof, and cracks. It takes a good tough move to come from under the roof up into the last crack. Jul 17, 2013

[Hide Comment] Super fun route! Must do if you go to shey. Nice places to chill out once you get higher - you can connect to other routes from the top of this. May 14, 2020

[Hide Comment] The hangars on the anchors have been taken out. Climbing this route is no longer allowed since it requires stepping over carved mantras in the start. Mar 17, 2023
