Dam Cool

V0+, Boulder, 12 ft (4 m),  Avg: 3 from 2 votes
FA: 7/7/2013
California > San Diego County > N San Diego County > Calavera Lake > Dam Straight

Description

Easy start but gets difficult to get over a small arete/hump. You can dyno it to a small crimp on the right or a slopper on the left high on the rock. It is nice and shaded in the bushes at the bottom of the Dam.
If you have climbed this before it has been altered due to the large flake on the face falling off. Simplifies the problem and made it now a dyno boulder problem. Very fun.

Location

After you get to the rocks you walk for 20 feet and then to your left there will be a small trail going down to the bushes right next to a boulder(Dam Cool). Set up your pad at the bottom and make sure you have a spotter so you don't fall into some bushes/trees.

New look of Dam Cool since the large flake broke off.

Good holds but need to be cleaned often, and there is a bee hive to the right of it. they don't bother you if you don't bother them.

[Hide Comment] Fun route, but the difficulty definitely varies based on height. If you're 6ft+ the last hold can essentially be reached without a dyno, making this probably a V1. Jul 26, 2013
