Catholic Grade School

5.10c, Trad, 45 ft,  Avg: 1.3 from 3 votes
FA: Craig Pearson & Dean Goolsby
California > San Bernardino… > Big Bear Lake Area > Big Bear South > Forest Rd 2N86 > Castle Grey Skull

The crux is probably about 15' up. Pretty sustained for the first 20-25'. Good hand crack the whole way, but the angle and lack of left foothold give this route it's challenge. Transverse left with the crack about halfway up and follow all the way to the top.

Anchor short of the top with 1-2" or use slings/webbing to run anchor from long 1" crack on the top of the crag. This crack can be used to anchor nearly all the routes on this crag.

.3-2" (double on 1" and 2" if you have them and like putting in lots of cams)

[Hide Comment] This sounds like the route "Catholic Grade School" (5.10b), which climbs the obvious crack on the right side of the southwest face. Jun 25, 2013

[Hide Comment] I'm sure it is. This is the most prevalent crack on the right side of the SW face. Jun 25, 2013
