Description

Follow the crack diagonally up to the right. About halfway up, follow the flake to the left and then ascend to the top of the block (5.10 variation) or continue left a bit further to exit along the top of Whalehunter.

Having done it twice on Top-Rope with different partners in different years, I think this is how the route should go:
Start under the right half of the Whalehunter roof. Work up the right-leaning diagonal crack to go around the right end of the roof. Traverse left like 6-10 feet, on footholds just above the roof, with hands on a wide sloping ledge. Step up onto the sloping ledge and grab a amall pillar, then roughly straight up to the top - (this finish takes a different line from the finish of Harpoon Me).

Nice variety of interesting moves, some strenuous. For me, the traverse and the move up to grab the pillar are the crux, but there's no shortage of challenges in the other sections. May 27, 2015

We did with a rope from the top, anchored with a static line to a tree farther back, hanging it over the edge roughly halfway between two trees near the edge. Jun 18, 2014
