Stay Calm

V-easy, Boulder, 30 ft (9 m),  Avg: 2 from 2 votes
FA: unknown
New York > New York City > Central Park > Slab Town

Description

The crux is probably 10 feet up the wall. It is pretty consistent all the way up. The holds are really good and obvious, but a little dirty. It's a good deal of fun.

Location

It is in the middle of the wall. There is a tree at the base that is about 50 ft.

There is a fairly large boulder to the right, which is the recommended path to the base.

Protection

No Pro. You could have probably set up a top rope off of a tree at the top.

[Hide Comment] This area/problem while not bad is probably more like class 3-4 scrambling, which there are way better options for around rat rock and chess rock. If you want to climb a good technical slab with no need for pro, Chess Rock is more worth your time IMHO but definitely more challenging for beginners. For highball slab, check out Shit Rock at the north end of the park (which probably deserves to be called "Stay Calm" considering the crux is at the topout). For a V-easy beginner climb, you're better off at Bethesda Boulder (go directly west up the path from bethesda fountain, the boulder is about a 10 ft seam-filled slab to your left) since its just a cleaner area that's easier to get to.
