Description

Slab/Crimp face just left of Down By Law. 4 bolts with the crux coming after the second. The climbing above is easier but no gimme. It seems longer than its length.

Location

The second bolted route up the hill on the Down By Law Wall

Protection

4 bolts to lower off anchors

This thing felt solidly 12d to me. The crux section felt v6ish and, as the description notes, the climbing outside of the crux is still very tenuous and not easy. Which ends up making the climb feel very sustained.

I do think the crux of this is easier than its neighbor to the right, but I also think that route is more like 13a than 12d.

Either way, I know that hard slab climbing isn't for everyone, but both of these lines are everything a good slab climb should be. Tenuous, delicate and beta intensive. Amazingly good rock as well. Oct 14, 2015
