Description

This route is a real blast and is impressively steep for the grade in Squamish as the final 2/3 are just beyond vertical. The route starts up a divot to the right of the main bolt-line, ending in a prominent ledge. The initial moves lead to an insecure crux above the second bolt (some potential for a nasty fall here)before traversing left past a tree to the base of the steep headwall. From here the difficulties relax considerably as you enjoy jug-hauling up the remaining 50 feet.

Location

next route immediately past the fallen log

Protection

10 bolts to chain anchors. The spacing between the last bolts and the anchor is substantial, but you could hardly ask for better holds

[Hide Comment] Even by the low standards of Area 44, this route is a stand-out for bad bolting and loose rock. The top half is a junk show. Yes, it is juggy but IMO most of the holds will have ripped off over the next decade or so. That section should either have been bolted more generously or - better - never bolted at all. The bottom half is at least solid but has no inherent logic as a line. The dumb bolt under the tree which the Select guide mentions as being needed to protect the traverse will screw up anyone top roping the route as a fall on the awkward moves below it will result in a big swing around the corner. It is better for the leader to clip a high bolt on "46" with a long sling and then traverse. Aug 4, 2023
