Warning Access Issue: Allenspur Approach DetailsDrop down

Description

One of the few under appreciated gear lines at Allenspur, Spur Corner climbs in the corner in between French Connection and Flake Fest. While it is a bit dirty in spots due to low traffic it is worth hauling the small amount of gear up the hill to do this climb.

Location

Located in the corner between French Connection and Flake Fest. Most obvious trad line when approaching the 7-11 crag on the new approach.

Protection

2-3 small cams (#2 c3 useful) Doubles in the .3 - .75 C4's and Singles 1-3. A selection of smaller nuts would be helpful as well. Protects decently although sometimes the gear can be hard to figure out. Bolted chain anchor. Climbed fine on a 70m but I would be a little nervous only using a 50m as this is one of the tallest climbs on the wall.

[Hide Comment] One of the most pure limestone/dolomite crack lines you can find in Montana. The crux is a little dicey to protect but it short (like 2 moves) the rest is very easily protected and cruiser. The route description puts the gear tally a little overkill. I did this today with one nut (small) at the crux and a single run of cams from .4-1 Jul 22, 2014

[Hide Comment] Great route! 10b was generous. I thought it was easy 10a, maybe even 9 if you are tall like me. Very bomber placements the whole way. Sep 27, 2020
