Access Issue: New access to Allenspur climbing Details

Description [Suggest Change]

One of the few under appreciated gear lines at Allenspur, Spur Corner climbs in the corner in between French Connection and Flake Fest. While it is a bit dirty in spots due to low traffic it is worth hauling the small amount of gear up the hill to do this climb.

Location [Suggest Change]

Located in the corner between French Connection and Flake Fest. Most obvious trad line when approaching the 7-11 crag on the new approach.

Protection [Suggest Change]

2-3 small cams (#2 c3 useful) Doubles in the .3 - .75 C4's and Singles 1-3. A selection of smaller nuts would be helpful as well. Protects decently although sometimes the gear can be hard to figure out. Bolted chain anchor. Climbed fine on a 70m but I would be a little nervous only using a 50m as this is one of the tallest climbs on the wall.

One of the most pure limestone/dolomite crack lines you can find in Montana. The crux is a little dicey to protect but it short (like 2 moves) the rest is very easily protected and cruiser. The route description puts the gear tally a little overkill. I did this today with one nut (small) at the crux and a single run of cams from .4-1 Jul 22, 2014
