The falcons have returned! Please do not climb in this area from roughly Feb. 1st - June 30, 2023. This is not a legal closure, but a suggested one for respect of the birds. Since the viewshed of this area is wide open, they are easily disturbed by people approaching, especially from above. Do not take the Grand Auditorium trail descent, and please keep a conservative distance from below.

Description
This was the start of a route in which Matt Robertson and a friend climbed to the top of the Grand Auditorium. If following that epic climb, be sure to bring ice climbing gear for the "bad" sections.
Instead of going up the loose grassy slope to Freedom Crack, continue around the bottom of the ledge to the crack in the corner. Ascend this crack, being aware of loose rock, to a ledge without an anchor. Makes for a great alternative approach to FC.
If continuing on this route, belay on gear, and bring up your partner. From here, you will have to traverse along the wall and descend a few feet to the start of the route. With the grass and minimal protection, this can be a little hairy.
