We have more information about the accident. The injured party, whose name is being withheld for now at his request, was a climber preparing to toprope Innominate in the Kingdom of Zilch. He fell from near the top while rappelling or preparing to rappel after setting a top anchor using a cordelette around the large, prominent knob feature there.

The cordelette was doubled around the knob, and had an overhand loop in it as a master point. There were no first-hand witnesses, but the climber reports that the cordelette "slipped off" of the knob, and he fell to the ground, suffering a broken foot and leg, broken pelvis, and multiple skull fractures.

The climber is doing well considering the extent of his injuries, and he does remember some of what happened. His doctors say that he should make a full recovery in a year or so. Jan 15, 2019
