Description

This is a fun power endurance problem. It starts out with big moves on good holds through a steep bulge, enters a crimpy over-hanging boulder-problem, and finishes with some more jug wrangling on the final bulge. The moves are fun and athletic, and the holds are comfortable, but don't appear to be excessively manufactured.

Location

This the striking bulge at the top of the aggro-gully. Scramble up the approach pitch to the base. I would recommend roping up.

[Hide Comment] If this thing was on morning glory it would see just as much, if not more, traffic than Churning! Oct 5, 2013

[Hide Comment] Awesome route and super unique for Smith. The crux for me was having to reach and flick the long draw to be able to clip it, I ended up skipping it on the send go (which really means I just wasn't strong enough to send while fiddling with that clip). I'm probably not the shortest person that has ever tried or wanted to do this route, I'm a little over 5'6, and anyone shorter would most likely have to do a less than favorable clip at the long draw. [Hide Comment] I am 5’3” and cannot clip the long draw. I clip a regular draw from a black crimp just right of the bolt. Long draw is in the way and I removed it when giving red point burns. Clipping this way is a shame since there’s a “safer” way for tall people, but it is by no means the sketchiest clip or run out you’ll find at smith. Amazing power endurance route. Easier than Quickening for someone my height. Nov 25, 2021

[Hide Comment] Beware jumaring the fixed rope to get up to the base. If you bring two quickdraws and yard on the bolts while rope soloing, it's a mellow romp up the slab with a few moves of french free. If you jug the rope, the sharp edges on the rollover will destroy the rope. It was basically brand new a month or so ago and is already done. Don't jug!

Additionally, as of yesterday this thing has been fully rebolted. In doing so, I moved the two bolts at the crux a bit to the right to make them easier to clip and eliminate the need for a long sling. I'm confident that all wingspans will be able to clip them without issue and they protect both betas for the crux well. (it actually straightens out the line too, so it's a win, win, win situation) Jun 18, 2023
[Hide Comment] +1 for Max's comment. I found the fixed line a few years ago completely thrashed. It's extremely dangerous to jug on the line, best to rope solo Sep 29, 2023
