Description

Enjoyable crack above the Lost Wall. Some plates have recently calved off the bottom section but I don't imagine that affected the climbing much. This would be a much sought-after moderate crack @ windy pt...

Location

Per the backcountry guide, "obvious crack" right of several large roofs atop the Lost Wall. From a distance the start looks like an elephant trunk.

Protection

Standard backcountry rack

I see from the photo that the Manzanita has been burnt away. Michael Jimmerson had to break through about 10 feet of of the stuff. It was about 6 feet tall and I was amazed at how easily you could break pretty thick branches. Feb 25, 2013
