Description

Bolted by Mike Benge a few years back, this captivating route sat as a project until Ben Spannuth got the FA in the summer of 2012. The route climbs a dark streak on rock that's much steeper than it first appears. The climbing gets progressively harder as you climb higher until the crux hits you at the last 2 bolts traversing left to the anchors.

Eds. Per Jeff G: the entire bottom of this route fell off. Massive chunks of rock the size of buses are lying at the bottom of the cliff. The first three bolts fell off.

Location

This is the first route right of the large, triangular roof that caps a couple of easy climbs.

Protection

9 bolts; chain anchor.

[Hide Comment] As of fall 2012, there are quickdraws hanging from all but the first bolt of this climb. It looks like these have been hanging for a couple of years though as the webbing looks very faded. Consider hanging your own draws if you are going to work this route. Jan 3, 2013

[Hide Comment] The entire bottom of this route fell off!!! Massive chunks of rock the size of buses are lying at the bottom of the cliff. The first three bolts fell off. I crawled under one of the fallen blocks and pulled two draws off the bolts! The most unusual booty I've ever collected.
The routes to the left and right seem ok, but it's pretty sobering to see the amount of fresh rock lying at the bottom of this cliff. Aug 17, 2015

[Hide Comment] So...I meant to post this earlier, but I swapped out the old draws with my own about two years ago, and now I guess I'll never send this route! Whose original draws are these? I've still got them and can return them to the rightful owner (Ben Spannuth?). Aug 19, 2015
