Scarlet Lady

V4, Boulder, 12 ft (4 m),  Avg: 3.3 from 24 votes
FA: unknown
Pennsylvania > S Central PA > Governor Dick P… > 45 Area > Scarlet Lady Boulder

Description

Fantastic slab dancing. Find the sequence up the face and keep it together at the top.

Location

Down the hill from the 45. Shares the same boulder as Omega Zen

Protection

~3-4 pads and a spotter are a good idea. It's sort of tall and the landing's less than ideal. You'll wanna cover that tooth at the bottom real well

[Hide Comment] Scarlet Lady was not the original name for this climb. I called it the Shark's Tooth because of the landing, around 2001. At the time nobody had named it but it had been done by perhaps three to five people before I did it. Have you tired the arete to the left, Seth? It's awesome! Jan 10, 2014

[Hide Comment] yeah i've been on it with no success. The start broke recently, not sure if anyone's done it since. It was getting V7 before, it may be a bit harder than that now. Jan 27, 2014

[Hide Comment] kind of the arete and the face to the right of the arete. The face on the left side is another problem that's supposed to be V5 where you get established and throw for the lip, but i've never been able to figure that one out. Apr 28, 2014

[Hide Comment] I have done the climb on the face to the left of the arete (Corporate Strategies). I do not remember the name of it, or even if it ever had a name. It was very tricky to get established on the face, then a fun long throw to the lip and mantel. V5 is right on for the grade. I did it with Chet in one day, and it took many tries to get on the rock. The throw isn't that difficult once you are on the boulder. Dec 16, 2014
