Access Issue: NO DRONES ON NATIONAL PARKLANDS
Details
All of the crags within the New River Gorge proper are on national parklands, and drone use is prohibited here. There has been some discussion about places to launch drones that are not on park property, and then flying them over the gorge. This is super poor form; don't do it. Park regulations prohibit all drone use over the boundaries without a permit.
Description
Golden Escalator is a 65' bolted route with positive, fingery holds and great movement. The long run to the first bolt is easier, after which the face becomes gently overhanging.
Location
To reach Golden Escalator, take the gully that leads down between Central Bubba and the Beer Wall. Go right from the bottom of the gully and around the corner. Golden Escalator is the first route on the gold-striped wall, just to the left of a large, overhanging block.
Protection
4 bolts, with the first at about 25 feet. 2-bolt anchor (actually 3, but one is old).
