Description

Fierce Invalids climbs up the perched, tear drop shaped boulder that forms the tunnel as you approach the back porch area. The problem faces the One Hand Slap boulder, and begins at the edge of a drop off into the trail below. Luckily, the only features on this east face are two xenoliths that lead you away from the precipice. Start on the inset, basketball-shaped xenolith and make a long move up and left to an inset, football shaped xenolith. Match and punch it to the top for an easy top out.

Location

East face of the perched tear drop boulder in the center of the main area.

Protection

Some pads for the rock ledge below the problem. Don't fall to the right....that would suck.

Ive always looked at this thing and wondered when someone would do a direct line out right over the death drop....looks intimidating, just as intimidating as this line...nice work Colin! Jan 1, 2016

Just went there over the weekend. Still magical.

Not across from the Scrotum. It actually faces East, towards the One Hand Slap. You walk underneath the rock(the left of two) as you approach the corridor and back porch. From the top of this rock you have a perfect perch to look at Matty's seam in the corridor. It's a two move wonder, using two big xenoliths, with a 10 foot drop off to the right into the trail under the boulders. The first move makes you wonder how bad it would be to slip off the edge into the trail below.

Have a look next time you go out there. The heinous landing area makes it a little inobvious as a climb. Oct 21, 2013

Hey Colin I know I did all those problems at one point or another, and I am pretty sure I'm remembering the line you are describing... Though barely. Across from the Scrotum problem?

Been missing this place a bit lately.... Sep 17, 2013

Hey JJ. Had you done this line back when we lived in Prescott? I don't remember anyone even looking at it, but it's fairly blatant, just scary. GP and I climbed it one day while I was visiting from Flag, but I could imagine you having ticked it during your own vision quest long before. ??? Sep 14, 2013
