a couple of fun start moves, to a very hard finish. there is an upside down gun grip shaped hold on the far right, start on that and move left across the face and then up and over the left side.

back side of the spine boulder along the main trail. on top of the hill before grumpy man.

1 pad is fine

I recently watched a video of this route. It was 2 yrs old and they called this route Cuba Libre and rated it V3. Not sure when you first named it, maybe its actually Cuba Libre? Jan 4, 2013

I assume you are talking about the neto nomads? is that how u spell it? anyway it was the only video I was able to find as well. the video i found said its 1 yr old and they climb right next to pipe around, they are climbing the easier slab that finishes with the same finish (almost). can u post the link here so i can watch it if you are talking about a diff video. Thanks for the heads up i'm sure there will be a lot of disputes over route names in the future. IF ANYONE HAS THE ORIGINAL CLIMBING GUIDE TO EL CARISO PLEASE HELP I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND IT. I hear it was made in the late 80's early 90's Jan 9, 2013
Ya that was the one. Its in the southern california bouldering guide, costs about 30 bucks from rei, but in only covers from aid hill down. One of the first guys out there, Dean, said past aid hill towards hot shots was overgrown when he used to go there in the early 90's. Jan 17, 2013

I have the Craig Fry guide, that map just isn't that accurate. it's close enough to get by but I have talked to the locals over the years and they say there is a guide that is out of print now and there are only so many copies out there. I talked to one guy who had it but he was keeping it a secret, i don't know why though because Cariso is mostly over grown anyway. well keep eyes and ears out, until then we'll just keep re-discovering boulders and giving them new names. happy climbing!
o ya past the aid hill is very overgrown, i've been down there several times, the old mining road has some good climbs that i might still post. then the far hill you can see has some good stuff too but it is extremely overgrown, most of the large boulders we found were very polished. if you go straight down hill from grumpy man there are some untouched boulders that look good.
