Hangin' Tree

5.9, Sport, 50 ft,  Avg: 2 from 41 votes
FA: unknown
Wyoming > Lander Area > Wild Iris > OK Corral > Right Side

Description

Slightly over-bolted at the start, this intricate route follows a surprisingly beta-intensive path through pockets and crimps to a slightly overhanging headwall.

Location

Two routes right of Ticks For Chicks. Starts from the extreme right edge of a 3-4 foot tall ledge. Look for a rock scar about 6 feet up that's shaped a little bit like Wisconsin, with 2 bolts on its left side.

Protection

6 bolts to fixe rings. The first bolt is easily clipped from the ground, but they're all pretty close together. Watch for Z-clip on the 4th bolt!

[Hide Comment] I mistakenly uploaded the photo to "Saddle Up", but the route is, in fact Hangin' Tree. Sep 4, 2012

[Hide Comment] Great climb, fun and worth doing. Maybe not for the marginal 9 leader. Sequency pockets low to some gymnastic throws mid-way. Watch for the z-clips! Could skip the second bolt. Oct 24, 2015
