Description

Climb the blocky flake up to a ledge and then trend up through a small bulge (crux). Tops out on a heavily vegetated slope that will make you want to grab any limb or root to avoid a fall. Beware of a lot of loose rock.

Location

Last climb to the right of the small climb as you go uphill. Make sure the belayer ties into the tree as there's a steep slope right below.

Two descent options: (1) After toping out, climb uphill and to the upper buttress and then walk off downhill. (2) rappel from the tree.

Protection

Standard Seneca rack

Led this as a budding 5.5 Seneca leader. Loose blocks scared the beejezus out of me. There's no need to even get on this route because of the loose rocks. If you're looking to lead or TR a 5.5, do the first pitch of Totem for a safer route. Sep 3, 2012
