From the cave below the stairs, continue right until you step around the corner above the Basement descent. Climb around the right side of the gray arete, using the big horizontals on the face and the arete itself. The exposure is what makes this a classic. Continue up to the descent trail via Dragon Pole.

This route was originally bolted, but they were removed in 2014. This might make the first move rather sketchy, but there are gear placements nearby.
