5.9-, Trad, Sport, 50 ft (15 m),  Avg: 2 from 125 votes
FA: Dan Hare, Stephen Nance
Colorado > Boulder > Upper Dream Canyon > Oceanic Wall

Description

The route directly to the right of Pound Town. Start out with bolts leading up to the left side of the ledge with a tree. Clip two more bolts then step right to utilize twin cracks, place bomber nuts. Clip one last bolt to the chains.

NOTE: this may be just a temporary name until Dan Hare decides the REAL name....

Location

This is to the left of the corner that head to the left side of the ledge with a tree.

Protection

6 bolts plus two medium to large nuts. A 0.5 cam placement is available also. Most people will be totally fine with one large nut. There are anchors with rings (now with Mussy hooks).

[Hide Comment] We tore down most of the tree at the ledge today. That arrow of destruction was ridiculous, ready to impale someone who fell at the crux, which was the only place without a bolt every 7 feet. Ugh. Aug 9, 2015

[Hide Comment] The first 5 bolts climb like 5.6, and then you get to the seam/finger crack. The description here says 6 bolts, but I'm pretty sure it was 7. So, I am thinking someone added the last bolt on this route at some point, because it was runout. Some will say a nut is still helpful through this runout section, but I didn't use one. If you are a confident 5.9 leader, it's not a problem. Also, you can get a really good look at this runout upper portion of the route from Pound Town - the next route over. Jul 6, 2020
[Hide Comment] The rightmost hanger on the anchors is wildly spinning as of 10/19/21. Oct 19, 2021

[Hide Comment] May feel a tad spicy without some gear. A medium stopper and #0.75 Camalot sew it up nicely. Oct 25, 2021
