Access Issue: Camping and COVID-19 - Guidelines Details

Description

This climb is a little too short, but is good quality. The detractor of height can be mitigated by clipping the anchor with a long runner and continuing onward into 'Asleep At the Wheel' at a rather consistent and continuous grade. Step up off of the ground (crux?) and into solid jams and cams onto the ledge with a chain anchor.

Location

This climb lies own 20 meters low and right from the Split Beaver Namesake climb. A hand-crack splits a short section of off-vertical wall to a good ledge with a set of chain and ring anchors.

Protection

A single set of hand and wide hands cams... more if continuing onto 'Asleep At the Wheel.'

[Hide Comment] This route is now called Salal Jam. It used to be just the left-hand start to Asleep at the Wheel. Jun 5, 2012

[Hide Comment] I used doubles of Camalot #3 and triples of #2 to avoid run out. Doubling up on those should be enough tough. May 17, 2016
