Description

An area classic. This line is characterized by ever steepening juggy climbing with a bouldery crux or two up high and a climatic finish. The first 2/3rds of this climb aren't any harder than 5.9 and there is a full no hands lay down rest before the crux.

Location

From the trail head walk climber's right for 5 feet and locate the maink chain as the second bolt. This is starry.

Protection

9 bolts with a 2 bolt anchor.

This route is a rarity for the New in that it is probably easier for shorter people. The crux is quite scrunchy. Maybe that's why 6'4" Doug Reed, normally none too generous with grading, originally rated it 12b. Starry is no longer an obscurity - expect to have a queue of people projecting it on the weekend.
