Description

This problem faces east/the road. Start with left hand in the lowest pod and right hand on the arete.

Location

Based on location, this problem could be listed under The Summit Area, but the nature of the climb lends itself to be listed with Cave Area climbs.

To get to the boulder, passing The Cave, continue up the road as it switchbacks north/right. Before encountering Airstream and the next switchback, look left. The problem is less than ten feet from the road.

Don't have one but I remember this being 5.10 in Craig Fry's guide and the big arete behind it being 5.11... but much easier. Mar 6, 2012

Climbed this yesterday, it was pretty fun. Short and powerful. I'm unsure of any other ascents as well although this seems to fall on a boulder identified as "turbolator" in the old Kennedy/ Hubbard guide. That problem is given the grade of "5.11". I feel the current boulder problem is more likely around a v5, although I'm curious to see what other people think. A typical Woodson sandbag would put this in the "5.11" range of Turbolator if in fact that's what this is. Dec 23, 2011

I did this problem 3/11/11 and am not aware of any prior ascents. If you know otherwise, please comment. Dec 8, 2011
