Start under the roof on the rail and move your way towards the large split in the rock to the left of 'Dougs Roof'. Lean back of the crack and use rock features for feet, reach around the face for big jug hold. Heal hook for a big pull up to face(crux).

This is the large spliter crack to the left of 'Doug's Roof' at Down Under.

A pad.

Maybe we could file this one and the others you've recently added under the area already created for Doug's Roof? (i.e. Down Under )

Things are going to get confusing real fast with all of these additions under the general heading of Redrock, especially when these routes are NOT part of the Redrock area. Dec 14, 2011

I would consider Down under and Oz in the same area of Pink Floyd, Main Craig, North Wall, and Master's Wall. They are all "Red Granite" uplifted during the same event. Along with the fact that they are within the same reserve and have the same parking area. Also, the hope being that people checking out the very popular routes at the main crags would possibly make the trek to these other areas.
Sorry about the jumble of routes right now, but I have contacted the MP manager of the Redrocks area and agreed these two crags (Oz and Down Under) deserve placement in this area.
But once cleaning of Down Under is completed him and I are going reorganize the Redrocks page with the crags with their own sub-pages(like other general areas areas are set up). Dec 15, 2011

Your solution comes across as selfish, especially considering that the Down Under area is ALREADY IN THE DATABASE and has been for years. You could simply click on that area instead of Redrock when you are adding all of these lines, right?!?!

You seem to be simply adding routes for uploading's sake and not caring that you are creating more work and confusion. You are NOT the only person that will be posting up routes in these areas.

Just because you park at the same lot does NOT make it the same area.

Are you saying we should put the Calvary boulderfield under Redrock too?

Come on, man, just put a little bit of thought into your impact on the tangle of the site.

Thanks. Dec 16, 2011

Okay, DFrench...let's step back for a moment. Down Under is a bit buried in the database for the new members of the MP.com community. Chris, according to the database, has recently joined. From years of admin perspective, it's not always easy to find routes/areas in the database...especially for newcomers. There's plenty of examples where we have had to clean up things...which is totally acceptable. It's also too easy to read intent into internet postings when so much of the normal cues of communication are lost and barely replaced with infrequently used emoticons or the like.

So, I will move the Down Under (I didn't know it was already in the database, myself) routes/problems. I'll leave a link on the Redrocks page, too. This is all a growing process for us climbers that all started back as a homework project for a couple of students a while back. Peace! Dec 16, 2011
