I start the mantel just to the left of the pic, in the divot seam thing. It doesnt make it harder or easier, and the "true line" isnt straight forward. Jan 20, 2014
This isn't how the problem is done, in my view. The route as I've always seen it does roughly half of the standard traverse, then presses out a tough mantel (notice the spelling-) at a divot/seam.

Pretty tough, I watched a buddy do it and gave it a try but felt heinous to me. Probably a lot easier if you just do a one-move mantel and hop down... Nov 25, 2011
