Description

Face climb past 1 Bolt to a horizontal crack, then to top.

Location

Right of Banana Crack, Lower Tier of CFE. Walk back down left-side wash to base.

Protection

Quickdraw, Small/Medium Cam(s). Single Bolt

Stick clip or crash pad are probably sane ideas on this one. Very thin crimps and tenuous feet before the first (and only) bolt and before the horizontal crack where a ground fall is very possible. Might not be a bad Idea to preplace a #2 Camalot in the crack beforehand and extend it way down. There's a bolt at the top of this one (shared with the top of Banana crack) that you can back up with a #1 Camalot. In my opinion most of the grades at Cactus Flower East seem about right except this one, which feels way harder than 5.10b. Feb 26, 2018
