Start on the obvious jug and work up the face.

This is on the Snowstorm Boulder in the area named The Gathering.

Hey Tom - Thanks for the info and background. Is the problem that you mentioned on the right side this problem located on the arete? (i.e. in this picture):….

Also, I assume the left problem more or less follows the arete on the left side but staying mostly on the face. Can you confirm?

I agree with the lack of names makes it kind of fun in Castlewood and hopefully going forward most names stay somewhat generic/vague just with good directions and good photos. Feb 15, 2012
This area we named The Gathering, and it was first listed in my guidebook circa 1994, but we named the area and FA'ed many of the problems back in the late eighties.
I did a line left and right of the one pictured, as well as the slanting v-corner on the rock that is behind you when facing the one pictured.
Mr Horan may lay claim to these and I'll give him credit if he did them in the mid-eighties or earlier, but I'm guessing we got there first, not that it matters. Back then we were doing so many new problems that we rarely named specific problems, with a few exceptions. We did name areas that had multiple problems. Feb 13, 2012

A great warm-up problem and a nice place to start if you want to hit other boulders in the area (Berthoud/Buddha/Corridor).

The crux is finding the moves to get over the lip. The landing is almost perfect except for a rock sticking out right in the landing sweet spot. Easily covered with pads.

Lots of other problems in the immediate area.

Bob Horan in Bouldering Colorado has this labeled as the "North Block" and this climb called "Flake It", but it seems this area was never given a proper name before that. Feb 10, 2012
