FA: unknown
New York > Adirondacks > K: Northern Region > Baker Mountain

Description

Climb a left-facing flake to a ledge with a good stance. Follow two cracks(the left one is formed by the huge block 25' up) to where they end and continue up to an overlap and the crack above it. Follow the crack to where it ends and continue on great face holds to the top.

Location

The start of the route is on the left end of a comfortable ledge toward the right side of the cliff.

Protection

This climb takes great pro throughout. Anchor with small trees and/or gear on top.

Smooth upper is tough to protect ... if setting a toprope be carefull your rope doesn't get stuck in the "V" at the cliff top..

Upper portion of TB or Not TB ... the cliff orientation meant the sun was still hot on Sept 20

Looking up from the typical belay area ... spacious but eroded with loose rock where you stand to belay. Climb near the center of the "yellow/green" colored rock.

The start, ground up, the holds are there, the rock is very solid and good.

I like to see the route with a rope in it for "perspective".

[Hide Comment] An "old school" 5.7, not recommended for a "maximum 5.7" leader, lower 2/3 protects well, highest part ??? Aug 15, 2017
[Hide Comment] Agreed that this is a stiff 7. Bring a few extra finger-size pieces and tiny nuts for the upper overhang move. Sep 23, 2019
