Cleopatra

5.7, TR, 50 ft (15 m),  Avg: 2.6 from 13 votes
FA: unknown
S Dakota > E Side SD > Palisades SP > King Rock

Description

A nice long sustained 5.7 in which you pull on holds resembling books not properly placed back on the shelf. Careful, I've witnessed a few climbers yank off chunks of rock. Make sure to warn any lost kayakers below. Move directly up the face following the path of least resistance.

Location

Top of the climb is a few feet upstream of the obvious tree on top of King.

[Hide Comment] This is a pretty nice climb. Includes a comfy belay ledge but does require your top managed skills to be up to snuff. Meanwhile the sustained 5-7 climbing right over the water is a pretty cool experience. Oct 19, 2017

[Hide Comment] Fun climb. Set up TR by slinging tree, and large blocks at back of the chimney and just above the tree to help the belayer manage climber's directional pull when lowering. Watch out for the bat living in a natural crack for your right hand about 5 feet from the top. May 29, 2020
