Frisky Monkey

V6, Boulder, 12 ft (4 m),  Avg: 3.4 from 19 votes

Description

Tigerside Boulder:

SDS as per "Crucifixion" but after the sit start, match the big jug rail and trend immediately right to finish as per Tigerside. The low block is always off for the line. The problem goes as V5 if it is used.

Note: For the climb "Frisky Monkey"(V6) the lower block/boulder has historically been treated as "off" and has been graded as such. To clarify, the chunky platform directly beside the starting holds to climbers-left is "off" for the whole problem. Sorry for any misunderstanding! If the low block is used for feet the lower crux sections are no longer as challenging.

Location

In The Room between the start of Tigerside/Nexus and Crucifixion.

[Hide Comment] Climbed this on July 12, 3018 and again on July 27th, 2018. Sometime in between those dates, the large side pull jug broke leaving a poor, blocky side pull (first move). Not sure if it changes the grade for taller climbers, but definitely a game changer for sub 5-foot climbers. Jul 28, 2018
[Hide Comment] Another hold break. The solid right hand crimp after the jug is now gone as well. It still goes, but maybe a touch harder. Oct 26, 2021

[Hide Comment] Seems like based off pictures and videos, everyone uses the pedestal block that is described as “off” in this description. Seems like it climbs better using it. Jul 20, 2024
