Description

The lower half is classic Devils Lake. The holds are all there, you just have to figure out how to use them! The upper half is a fun romp up a nose. An alternate finish steps right and goes up the steep crack on the N face.

Location

On the mossy wall to the right of "North Chimney". Start on good holds in the middle of this wall. The route stays to the left of the wall's right-hand edge. Ends on the blocks to the West of Great Tower proper.

Protection

None, really, until past the crux.

Hey climbers! There are options for other cool hard un-attempted climbs in this shaded alley behind Great Tower. Oct 4, 2011

This climb reminds me of "R-Exam" at East Bluff. At the start...steep and smooth with in-obvious but in-situ positive holds that require puzzle solving to negotiate and has no trad gear options. It doesn't wander quite like "R-Exam" though. And also like "R-Exam" it shoots for a rest at a very positive horizontal then throws a final short steep devious bit at you before reaching the fun easier rib like feature that leads to the top. Gee- I sound like I really like the route "R-Exam" huh? Oct 4, 2011
