Description
Good vertical crack climbing fun and recently cleaned, Firebird climbs a friendly crack system on the left side of the Zonkers wall.
P1 5.6+ 80 Climb a short hand crack step left, follow the crack system up to a large ledge with some oak trees.
P2 5.7+ 45 Start on the left side of the ledge, Face climb up to a 6in wide crack leading to the top.
The second pitch has not been cleaned but could use it. From the first belay you can walk right along a ledge that provides access to some of the upper routes/pitches or just for the view.
Location
Furthest left and obviously cleaned route on the Zonkers wall
[Hide Photo] John Howard on Firebird 5.7, a route at Woodchuck just around the corner to the left of Ace of Spades, Zonked Out and Screaming Yellow Zonkers. The picture is a little blurry as it is two stitched…
[Hide Photo] Looking down the amazing fist/hand crack.
[Hide Photo] Climbed and cleaned p2 today(solo lead linked pitches) This part is almost as fun as the bottom 2/3rds!
[Hide Photo] Firebird is fun with a great view to your right on p1
[Hide Comment] tree with the tat at the end of pitch 1 is very dead. probably better to plan to top this out and hike back down through the playground area.
